# External Migrations

> Learn how to migrate resources from third-party secrets management platforms to Infisical.

## Overview

Infisical supports migrating resources from third-party secrets management platforms to Infisical. This is useful if you're looking to easily switch to Infisical and wish to move over your existing resources from a different platform.

Infisical offers two types of migration approaches:

* **In-Platform Migration Tooling**: Connect to a supported platform (like Vault or Doppler) using an **App Connection** — either project-scoped (created inside a project) or organization-scoped (visible across every project). Import resources on demand from anywhere the App Connection is visible.

* **Bulk Data Import**: Run a one-time, organization-wide import directly from raw platform credentials. This is ideal for an initial cutover when you're moving entirely to Infisical. Currently available for HashiCorp Vault.
